Excel Oats historically have an outstanding grain yield in the Midwest. The oats produce a strong straw and are a moderately early grain oat. The uniform plant characteristics and disease resistance create potential for a high yield with great test weight. Excel oats can be planted in the spring or fall and are reistant/tolerate to Crown Rust, Loose Smut, Yellow Dwarf Viruses, but are susceptible to Stem Rust. Excel Oats freeze at 20-22 F.
