Udder Filler is a high energy, rapid growth forage crop. It combines spring triticale with annual ryegrass. This crop can be harvested in 45-60 days. It needs 30-50 lb/A of actual N and should be drilled at ¾” to 1”. The mix is high in carbohydrates and protein.
Udder Filler works well as a dairy cow ration or for lactating beef cattle.
Udder-Filler Blend:
70% Spring Triticale
30% Forage Annual Ryegrass
Plant in srping at 100-120 lb/acre. Responds well to nitrogen or manure applications. High in protein and carbohydrates. Not recommended for use as a nurse crop.
